What are the First Things I Should Do?

We are SO glad you are taking the first steps to improve your pet’s health… and yours too!

Here are some initial changes to your pet’s lifestyle that you can make right away. These are the things we will go over at your first appointment, so get a head start! These little changes can make a huge impact.

  1. Eliminate grains, dairy, and chicken from the diet.

We have found (and many studies have shown) that grains are inflammatory to the body. A recent study have tried to go against this, claiming grain free diets are harmful. However, if you do some digging, the study is done in bad science and and bad business. The three veterinarians at the heart of the investigation — Dr. Lisa Freeman, Dr. Josh Stern, and Dr. Darcy Adin — all have financial ties to one or more of Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Mars Petcare, and Nestle-Purina. We do not advise grains in your pets diet. If you plan to use kibble, we recommend the brand Zignature. Our testing consistently shows chicken as a food trigger. We recommend avoiding dairy as it feeds bacteria, parasites, yeast, and viruses in the body.

  2. Stop over vaccinating your pet.

After vaccinating as a young pet, we rely on titer testing to make sure your pet’s immunity is high and they are protected.

  3. Add in more fresh, real food.

Using fresh fruits and veggies as treats or in meals is a great way to add natural vitamins and fiber!

  4. Be positive!

Pets are great a feeling energy! Be positive and excited to learn and heal together!
